Hi, I’m Harley, and yes, I’m a girl! I am a 2 year old, 21 pound, blue-brindle beauty, if I do say so myself. I am currently located near Riverside, California.  Luckily I landed at FUR after being freed from the shelter by a good Samaritan. I was not in good condition, and it was clear that I had been abandoned. I have gained weight, had my cherry eye repaired, and had a benign mass on my shoulder removed. My shoulder scar lets me spin lots of fanciful tales- my favorite is that it was from a shark attack!

I like adventures, do you? Let’s go on a fun walk or a little hike to explore the great outdoors! I also enjoy naps, and will gladly be your nap buddy; or we can watch TV together. I like to occupy my time by chewing on safe bones and Nylabones, and I love a good stuffy toy. However, I’m a professional de-stuffer, so they’d better be made heavy duty!

I am pretty good with my potty habits, and learned how to access the doggy door in three days. But, as you know, you’ll have to keep me on a schedule till I get the hang of a new environment. I’m not fazed by the vacuum nor lawnmower. I take treats very gently from your hand. I’m a good traveler and behave at the vet’s.

I have really enjoyed having a friendly, playful dog in my foster home. We wrestle and chase each other around, and I delight in doing the fastest zoomies you ever did see. I have cats in my foster home, and I generally ignore them until I get a bit rambunctious- then I want to play with them as if they’re dogs. I don’t think they like that all too much, ‘cause I can be a bit much.

I don’t really like to be alone. Sometimes when I am, I sing the song of my people with soft, mournful howls, and other times I might just plain bark. And yet other times I do quite well, and just take a snooze till you get back home.

Now here’s the serious part. You see, I was recently adopted, but my family returned me to FUR because they couldn’t deal with my allergies. Lots of Frenchies have skin allergies, and I am no exception. We are trying a combination of things to see what works best for my itchies, including medicated baths, regular ear cleanings, a prescription diet, and Apoquel tablets and/or Cytopoint injections. Perhaps I am allergic to environmental allergens, like grass, perhaps I am allergic to food, like chicken- we just don’t know yet. I was extremely saddened to lose my home, so I am seeking a loyal family who will be truly dedicated to helping me live my best life and won’t give up on me. I have been let down so many times in my short life. Will you provide me a loving, forever home where we can live together, happily ever after? If so, please consider applying for me, Harley!
