Hello everybody! My name is Hazel! I’m around 2 years old and weigh 24 pounds, and my foster home is in Riverside California.
A good Samaritan found me tied up to a doorknob after my breeder decided that they were done with me. But the cats in this new home didn’t accept me, and thus I was surrendered to the good folks at Frenchies United Rescue. While in foster care I have been spayed and vaccinated, and I have received a clean bill of health.
I am an exceptionally healthy girl and I love to eat! In fact, I tend to eat way too fast, so I use a slow feeder to help with that. I also enjoy a variety of fruits and veggies mixed in with my kibble. I especially like apple slices for snacks!
On a scale of 1 to 10, I’m an 11 when it comes to energy! I am full of puppy pep, all day every day! There is a saying, “A tired dog is a good dog”, and this rings true for me, too. I love to play fetch, and I love to exercise and run. My new family must be willing and able to keep up with me and tire me out, otherwise I might find objects to entertain myself by chewing on. I really enjoy going for walks, but I get so excited that I pull like a sled dog. Guess I need a little help learning leash manners. But I do know how to sit nicely and come when called! And I ride very well in the car! I know how to use a doggy door, and I rarely have a potty accident. I’m not the biggest fan of going into the crate, but I do settle down after a little bit.
I genuinely delight in playing with other dogs! However, I’ve been told that I can be rough and “in your face” with my style of play. Because of this, I would probably fair best with a submissive, exceedingly tolerant male dog who likes to play just as much as me. My own fenced yard to play and exercise in would be preferred.
There are no children or cats in my foster home, so I can’t quite say how I would react around them. I could accidentally knock small kids over with exuberant jumping, so perhaps older children who are a bit sturdier and know how to keep their toys picked up would work well.
Once I am tuckered out, I become a world class cuddler! I will sweetly snuggle with you. So, if you are seeking an ENERGETIC happy go lucky pup, I’m your girl!
