Meet Alvin!

Alvin is a sweet, soulful 4-year-old male who weighs 29 pounds and is ready to find his forever home. Rescued from the Riverside shelter, Alvin has spent the last few weeks in foster care, where he’s been learning what it means to be loved and cared for.

 

This gentle boy is a bit shy at first, especially around male humans, but with patience and kindness, his playful and affectionate personality shines through. Once Alvin feels safe, he’ll bounce around in excitement and show you just how happy he is to be by your side. He’s more of a cuddle bug than an athlete, preferring snuggles and relaxation over high-energy activities. We have learned that he is scared of males at first, but will warm up to them.

 

Alvin loves his meals of Open Farm Raw Mix twice a day and never says no to treats. He’s still learning the ropes of potty training, as he was an outdoor dog before his rescue, but he’s making great progress.

 

Alvin’s ideal home is one where he’s the only pet, so he can soak up all the love and attention. He hasn’t been around small children or cats, so we’re unsure how he’d do in those situations. A calm, patient adopter will be key to helping him continue to come out of his shell. And did we mention he’s a little singer? If you sing to him, he might just join in while lounging by your side. Hes not great with other dogs, so no other pups in the house.
